Testing an Email
From EtelligentWiki
It is strongly advised that an email is never sent without a test being sent first. Testing falls into a number of different areas:
- Proof reading a message to find typing & grammatical errors
- Ensuring the message is 'in brand' and meets style guide requirements
- Making sure the message contains the sender information required by law
- Checking links and link actions set up in Link Management
- Testing Personalisation
- Checking message rendering in common email clients
- Testing the sending filter
To send a test of your message:
1. Navigate through the campaigns to the email you wish to send a test of.
2. Click on Send Test Email.
3. If you have created a Test Filter then select from the drop-down list and click on whether you wish to send a plain text version to test or leave unchecked to send an HTML version.
4. If you have not created a test filter then you can do so using the text fields to enter a First Name, Last Name and E-mail address. Once this has been, Etelligent will create a Test Filter with the name of the email address which will appear in the Test Filter dropdown future test sends.
5. The test message should appear in your in-box very quickly. In order to identify the message as a test, Etelligent will append [Test Send] to the subject line.
