Putting uploaded contacts into an existing group
From EtelligentWiki
To put an uploaded contact into an existing group, firstly you need to have a group to put them in. If you have a ready made set of fields for your contacts then skip to the next step. If not you will need to create them.
1. For this example I am going to add 3 fields to on the Manage Contact Fields page, each one representing a different product (Product A, Product B and Product C). How to add these is covered on the Managing Contact Fields page.
As you can see above the three products have been created and are Tick Boxes. The columns mean true/false, yes/no, or 1/0 (zero being false). You can use these new fields to store preference data about for your recipients.
2. Next, you need the contacts you wish to segment in a spreadsheet (either exported from Etelligent or from your CRM system). Open the file in Excel and add columns to match the ones you added in Etelligent.
3. To add a contact into a group (for example Product A) enter 1 in the cell on their row. 1 to Etelligent represents True or Yes, whereas 0 or no value represents No or False.
4. Once all the contacts have been updated, save the file and upload your contacts matching the preference columns in Excel to those in Etelligent.
