Preview Contact Filter

If you have built an email that is Personalised (i.e. it has components that are selected for inclusion using a Component Filter) then that email will appear differently to different sets of recipients. Personalisation is a very powerful feature but it presents additional challenges when the email is being built and tested.

Using a Preview Contact Filter essentially allows you say to Etelligent "Show me what this email would look like if it were sent to this person". Etelligent will then show you a full screen preview of the message based on the data in the contact record for the person returned by the Contact Filter you have selected. In order to see all the different possible versions on the message several Contact Filters may need to be defined. When you want to see an email evaluated using a contact filter it can be selected using the drop down list at the top of the email preview page.

A Previw Contact Filter can be built in the standard way. To add, edit or delete a Contact Filter select View Filters in the Contacts section of the navigation panel and then Preview Contact Filters.

A Preview Contact Filter can be built to refer to just one record in the Contract List by using conditions that can only be satisfied by one record. However this need not be the case, and should more than one contact satisfy the conditions in the filter, Etelligent will use only the first record that was found.
