Merging Images
From EtelligentWiki
Commonly Merge Fields are used to personalise emails and webpages with text from the database. A feature of Etelligent allows you to merge images too. Examples of this might include: custom images of a recipient's account manager or special offer banner ads tailored to the user's preferences.
How to merge images
To begin with you need to create a new Contact Field within the Contacts section. Name the Contact Field appropriately and set the Field Type to Text255.
You now need to go through the contacts in your database and add an image URL in this field for each of the recipients. Images can be hosted either on Etelligent or elsewhere online. To host on Etelligent, upload your image as normal through the Graphical Editor and Commit Changes then right click onto the image, select Properties and this will give you the URL of the image e.g. http://www.etelligent.co.uk/etelligent/clients/yourclientcode/siteFiles/resources/images/template/photo1.jpg
Once this is done go to the component that the image is going to appear in and view in the Graphical Editor mode. Click onto the image icon and then add into the Source the merge field for your image. (e.g. --image--)
Now click on Insert and you will come back to the Graphical Editor page, however the image will appear broken.
This is normal as a different image will be put in place depending on the recipients given image in the database.
Click onto Commit Changes and then send a test e-mail to check it looks as intended.
