Make content inaccessible for certain user types

From EtelligentWiki

When adding or editing a user with a User Type of "Page Editor", it is possible to restrict their access to particular Campaign Folders, Emails, and Web Pages.

When you click the Add/Update button on the initial user details page, you are taken to a screen with a series of checkboxes similar to the screenshot below:

These tickboxes represent the Campaigns, Emails, and Web Pages in your installation. The actual names as they appear in your Campaign Overview appear in brackets after each item. Any tickboxes that are not checked are not available to this user.

To give a user access to a particular Email or Web Page, you must ensure that they have access to all the Campaign Folders that form a "path" to it from the "Campaigns" root folder.

For example, looking at the screenshot above, if you wished to give a user access to the "Etelligent Christmas Card" (the third item up from the bottom), you would need to have ticks in the boxes for "Campaigns", "Marketing", and then "Etelligent Christmas Card".

Unfortunately, this can become quite awkard to set as when you tick the box of a Campaign Folder, Etelligent will automatically select all the items inside it for you. You must then manually uncheck every item that you don't want the user to access. If you have a large number of Emails and Web Pages, this can be quite time consuming.

A far easier method of setting which Campaign Folders, Emails, and Web Pages a user has access to is to use the "User Permissions" option on the Campaign, Email, and Web Page "Edit ... Properties" pages. To access these pages, just go to the Campaign Overview, select the item you wish to set the Permissions for and click the "Edit ... Properties" navigation link on the left from within the appropriate subsection for the item you selected.

Once there, you should see a "User Permissions" option at the bottom with an Edit link next to it. If you don't, it's because your installation doesn't have any users with a User Type of "Page Editor" so there aren't any users to set the Permissions for and Etelligent won't display the option.
