Live Filter
From EtelligentWiki
As the name might suggest, Live Filters are used to define a set of records of the Etelligent Contacts Database primarily for the purpose of sending out a 'live' (ie not a test) email. When viewing a list of filters, for example in the drop down list when sending an email, the live filters are coloured Pale Green.
You can create a live filter using the Filter Editor.
Live Filters typically do not define a fixed list of contacts but rather they are dynamic and, when run, will return all the entries in the contracts table that meet specific criteria. When a Live Filter is used to send out an email, Etelligent will evaluate the rules of the filter and create a distribution list as the first step of sending the message at the requested send time.
Any contacts marked as having a bad email address, or who have been unsubscribed, are automatically excluded from this type of filter. By default, should an email address be included more than once in the distribution list created by the filter the message will only be sent once. This list deduplication can be stopped by checking the appropriate box in Email Properties.
As it is possible to download from the Etelligent Contacts Database the membership of a filter, a Live Filter might be made solely for this purpose. To download a list of contacts you need to use the View All Contacts option within the Database Management section of the navigation panel.
