Email Properties

From EtelligentWiki

Once you have selected an email, and you are viewing it in preview mode, the properties option will appear in the Emails section of the navigation. The properties screen looks like this:

Edit Email Properties

This is what you might enter, and how the information will be used:

Subject Line This is what the recipient will see in there inbox when the email arrives. There are some advanced options that allow the use of Merge Fields, so that the subject line can be personalised, and split testing of two or more alternatives.

Title This is used to identify the email within the Campaigns and Reports as subject lines might be the same on all emails. This is not visible in any way when the message is sent

From Address & Reply To Address From Address is the email address that the email will be sent from and which will receive bounces and automatically generated emails.

Reply To Address is the email address that will be used when your recipients click the "reply" button in their mail clients.

Additionally, Etelligent allows you to perform a Friendly Name Merge. This can make the email appear to come from someone's account manager, sales contact, etc.

Default Salutation This is used for mail merging. If your Email contains either the "--name--" or "--formalName--" Mergefields, when you come to send it Etelligent will check each contact has suitable values in their Title, firstName and lastName fields and use those to replace any occurrences of those Merge Fields. If a contact doesn't have values in those fields, Etelligent will merge in the text in the Default Salutation instead. You could set this to be "customer" or "reader" for example.

Background Colour Use the paint bucket icon to specify a Background Colour should one be required.

Google Analytics By ticking this box, tags will be added to all the links inserted in the email that pass information to Google Analytics. This allows you to fully analyse the cost effectiveness of you email in terms of the visitor traffic to your website. Find out more about Google Analytics Integration.
