Editing Tables

In emails tables are used to specify the layout of the email (as well as to present tabular data). Current thinking about best practice is that tables should not be used for layout when designing a website. However in email they still need to be used for this purpose.

When in the Graphical Editor, tables, which do not have a border attribute set, are displayed with a light border around each of the cells. This is to help the editing processes.


Adjusting Existing Tables

The Graphical Editor allows you to change the properties of any tables already defined. You can change the properties of the table as a whole and also of individual cells (and also columns and rows). To access the properties of an exising table you first need to select it and then take the icon which shows a red grid with a pencil (at the top third from the right):

You then need to specify if you want to edit:

  • Adjust the table size ie add or delete rows and columns
  • Edit the table's properties
  • Edit the properties of a particular cell


Adding a new Table

To add a new table take the icon which shows a blue grid (at the top fourth from the right.
