In Etelligent, new messages are always created by copying an existing document. The first step therefore is to choose what you want to use as the basis of the new message. Do this by navigating to your selected Template Message. In most installations you will find a Campaign Folder called Templates.

Select Template

Click on Create New Email tab

Take this option when you have the selected Template Message open on the screen. Etelligent then displays the New Email Properties screen. Here you can specify the supply the Email Subject Line and internal name for the message. You also specify the campaign folder in which the message should be created. There are other parameters but if your installation is well maintained these should be defaulted correctly.

Create the 'Plain Text' version of the email

Manage the links in the message

After you have prepared your email you can take the Link Management option. You will see a table of all the links you have put into the email. You should ensure that the 'friendly' names for the links are such that when you look at the post-send report you will be able to identify exactly what went on. There are also some advanced features that you can access here that will set-up consequential actions when the link is followed.

Test the email

Testing an Email is vitally important. Following testing, you might need to revisit some of the previous steps to make adjustments.

Send your message

When you are happy with the look of your message, and every thing has been fully tested, you can queue the message for sending by taking the Send Email option. You will be asked select one of your Filters to specify the people to whom the message will be sent.

Next Steps

After you have sent your message you will want to see what sort of an impact it has made using Email Reports. The reports detail how many people viewed the message, what links they clicked on, even when they opened it.
