Create New Survey

Take Create New Survey in the Surveys Area of the navigation panel. The following screen will appear.
The survey is specified in 4 steps:
- Survey Fields Specify the questions (and section headings).
- Survey appearance Set the Fonts, Colours etc.
- Survey Actions What should happen on submission e.g. 'Thank You' message
- Survey Messages The On-screen 'Thank You'.
Once all these steps have been completed, name your survey (in the Form Name box) then take Submit to save the specifications.

The Questions (Survey Fields)
The first thing to do is to enter the Questions and Section Headings.
- Contact Field Questions These are questions that directly update data on the contact record. They can be used to confirm personal details or and individual's preferences.
- Survey Field Questions The answers to these questions are not permanently stored against the contact. Rather, they are placed in a table associated with the survey. An example of this might be an answer to a competition question.
- Survey Titles are used to enter a row of text without any input boxes. They are used to break up the survey into sections.
Survey Appearance
Click on Survey Appearance to display the styling options available. Use the drop-down lists to alter the styling of the survey.
Survey Actions
If you Enter Email Address to Receive Results in the appropriate box then, as promised, the results of each form submission to be sent to this address.
Additionally, you can specify other types of action from the available types:
- Modify Contact Information - The contact's database record will be amended, possibly to record some information that you have inferred as a result of submitting the survey.
- Send an Email Alert - You can specify that a specific email address will be sent an email each time the survey is submitted.
- Send Email - This action will cause another email to be sent to the contact, either immediately or with a delay. This is useful for sending a 'Thank You' email.
As Actions are added their specifications will be show in the Link Actions area. You can enter as many actions as you like. There are no restrictions so might have a number of actions of the same type set.
Survey Messages
You can enter HTML to control the appearance of the 'Thank You' page.
