Alert Email
From EtelligentWiki
The Send Alert Email action allows you to have another email sent to a specified email address automatically on the basis of some action being taken by the contact. The action can be:
- Following a link in an email
- On submitting a survey
Why might you want to do this? Here are some examples:
- A contact has demonstrated an interest in a topic by following a link. If this is a 'high value' oportunity you might like to know about it right away so that it can be followed up.
- You might want to be informed that someone has booked a place on a seminar using a survey form.
Specifications are made on a page that looks like this which includes an example of how it might be completed:
This is what you need to do when you add an action of this type.
- In the To: field. enter the email address you'd like the alert message to be sent to.
- Enter also the Subject: line for the alert email.
- Enter the content of the email in the area provided. NOTE: This should be plain text only - NO HTML TAGS. The Merge Fields drop-down list can be used to extract contact details from the contact who clicked on the link e.g. '--Title-- --lastName-- clicked on the link' would send an alert email e.g. 'Mr Smith clicked on the link'
- Click on Submit to save the settings.
